Discover EBA Printing – A Milwaukee Printing History!
After 4 years as a member of the United States Air Force, Ed Bristol capitalized on his passion for drawing cartoons and began selling sketches to local companies for advertising purposes. With a wife and a son to support, he began working for a local newspaper as an ad salesman and designer. After a few years, Ed purchased the newspaper, the Northwest News. Ed offered other services like shoppers (tabloids) and sold advertising space to many local businesses. The printing and distribution for these shoppers was outsourced to another local company. He later sold the newspaper.
In 1959, after purchasing his first AB Dick printing press, Ed embarked on a journey to open Ed Bristol Advertising & Printing, also known as EBA Printing today. He and his wife Gloria worked tirelessly for years to build the business and EBA became one of the most successful Milwaukee printing companies. Ed’s charisma and ambition paired with his entrepreneurial spirit helped make EBA Printing successful.
With the business relationships Ed had fostered, he was able to acquire new equipment and offer more Milwaukee printing services. EBA Printing now has six printing presses, two of which are high-end digital presses with variable data capabilities. With an in-house design team, EBA Printing now offers complete design and full-color print services for brochures, booklets, catalogs, calendars, and more. With an in-house direct mail department, the entire process is a breeze!
Ed & Gloria’s son Mark Bristol began working for the family business at a young age doing hand bindery and later moved on to deliveries, showing proofs, and machine bindery. At the age of 18, with his father as his mentor, Mark began door-to-door sales. Today, Mark continues to enjoy the relationships he builds with clients.
With a strong father/son business relationship, Mark and Ed started a coupon book, Coupon Magic, which was a huge success for the printing duo. After Ed passed in 2011, Mark took over as president of EBA Printing and works to continue his father’s legacy of excellent service, premium quality, fair pricing, and quick turnaround.
EBA Printing is proudly family owned and operated. About 10 years ago, Ed’s son-in-laws joined the Milwaukee printing team. Glenn Cummins serves as the General Manager & General Sales Manager and uses his background in marketing and expertise in printing, mailing, and variable data to manage day-to-day operations. Perry Streeck serves as the National Sales Manager and has extensive knowledge in printing and direct mail services. Together, they have continued the family tradition of meeting and exceeding the needs of their clients.
Celebrating our 58th year, Ed Bristol Advertising & Printing has stayed current with new printing technologies, trends and techniques. The team strives to provide excellent customer service and great quality at a fair price, making EBA Printing your go-to printing company.
